I'm Thankful

It's just before Thanksgiving and we're less than 80 days away from the opening ceremonies of the 2018 Winter Games. I ponder as I write this over a cup of coffee how I got here and how thankful I am to be in the position I am in.

I'm 12 years into my career as an athlete on the US Snowboard Team. Sometimes, I feel like I've been doing this for so long, that I have a hard time getting a grip on what reality is. This is because, for the most part, I'm living my dream. Although it's hard work, I'm extremely thankful and gracious to be in the position I'm in and have the opportunity to do what I do.

First of all, I'm thankful to have the support of my family and friends. Also, I'm very grateful for the support of my team, coaches, wax techs, and medical staff. I'm also very thankful for the support I have from my sponsors. As you can see in my photo, I have a new sponsor joining for my journey to the 2018 Olympics and beyond! I'm very excited to announce my partnership with American Standard. This was a perfect fit because their stylish, well-made products perform beautifully day in and day out; and I look to do the same every time I'm out on the snow.

I'm also thankful that the hard work over the past few years have paid off. I've dealt with a number of injuries, including an Achilles rupture in 2012. I was on the podium in September at the first World Cup of the year; that podium may be the result I need to send me to my first Olympic Games. My agent Sho, who I'm lucky enough to call one of my best friends, has been helping me use this runway leading into the Winter Games to gain support and partners going forward.

Winter is right around the corner; and the whirlwind of an Olympic year on the US Snowboard Team has barely started, but I'm looking forward to everything it brings!

Thank you:
